Visiting Launceston is always a rewarding experience. Although not necessarily well known as a tourism destination Launceston has many hidden secrets that are quite rewarding when discovered.

Probably Launceston’s best known attraction is Cataract Gorge. Within easy walking distance from the centre of town, the gorge is very popular with the locals. Suspension Bridge, swimming pool, and safe cliff edge walks are some of the alluring charms of Cataract Gorge.

The city centre is an excellent shopping experience that is sure to impress. Walking the streets and central mall is retro experience full of boutique shopping and cafe dining venues.

The Tamar Valley Wine growing district is minutes away. With over 20 Cellar Doors to chose from there is certainly one that will remain a favourite. Also along the Tamar Valley is the historic Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre where you can witness first hand the trials and tribulations of mining this region of Tasmania.

For those beach orientated Green Beach and Kelso are two local favourites. With clean sands and expansive spaces these are a wonderland in the warmer months.
